I’ve been doing joke Thanksgiving recipes off and on for 19 years. This is the bleakest group yet. I live within 25 miles of my immediate family, and might see them masked and distanced in a yard as we exchange food we made in Tupperware. And I’m one of the lucky ones.
Stay safe so we can do this all over again for next month’s holidays.

I got rid of my car four years ago, and used Zipcar for groceries and supply runs. I’m not sitting in someone else’s germs, so we rely on delivery now. Thankfully there’s a local store that’s sources stuff locally, so its supply chains aren’t as strained as the monopolies.
We currently have enough meat and fish, but I would kill for a grocery chain rotisserie chicken and the chicken salad I’d make out of the leftovers.

McDonald’s is eliminating antibiotics from its chicken, and trying to market itself as a healthy place to eat gray slabs of beef which presumably will still be pumped chock full of antibiotics and who knows what else.
I hope I ruined Shamrock Shake season for all of you.
