CNN’s New Roster of Rogues

Read the comic on Patreon.

Cable news has been garbage forever, but now CNN in angling to be a Fox News clone. Outside of breaking national news, these channels are only watched by shut-ins and DC insiders who leave this garbage on as background noise every day, poisoning their brains (and our government) in the process.

Says the cartoonist who leaves Twitter open on another monitor the entire time he was drawing this.

GOP Midterm Messaging

Read the comic on Patreon.

You don’t roll out a new advertising campaign until after Labor Day. With the midterms coming up, the GOP is in need of a new one. They’re currently polling lower than Democrats, which is surprising if you have the same view of Democratic leadership as I do.

This could all change in two months, but for now, it’s nice to see them ineptly flailing about for once.

Ron DeSantis’s Back-to-School Rules

Read the comic on Patreon.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis and Republicans in general have spent years demonizing teachers and cutting their funding, and are now dealing with teacher shortages as the school year begins. They’re sending cops and troops in to fill the vacancies, which I’m sure will end well.

One thing I’ve learned the last year or so of drawing this guy is that he’s always doing a third-rate Trump impression. He went to fancy schools, and can never nail it without adding a car dealership vibe to Trump’s awfulness.

Impression critique aside, he’s a fascist actively planning to steal elections. And unfortunately, Florida still has a lot of electoral votes that could decide the fate of the entire country.

Inside Trump’s Treason Trove

Will there be consequences for the classified material Trump kept at Mar-a-Lago? Probably not, but it is still very funny. Better than him actually killing a guy on 5th Avenue and nothing happening.

Alex Jones’ Nonlitigable Conspiracy Hole

Read the comic on Patreon.

Alex Jones lost his defamation case and owes the families of Sandy Hook victims $45 million for saying they’re faking. There were a bunch of shenanigans during the trial. People who breathe the same air as you and me watch him and take him seriously, making him rich enough to probably use appeals and bankruptcy court to continue entertaining them for years to come.

David Brooks’ Working Class Safari

Read the comic on Patreon.

The entire media industry is collapsing, for lowly cartoonists like me all the way up to the makers of prestige HBO shows. But if you’re a columnist who’s made being weird and wrong your thing, you can keep pumping out a couple hundred words of nothing and keep cashing those checks in perpetuity.

Foreign Policy Fetishes

As things are crumbling around us, it’s important to remember we’re also the cause of many other countries’ problems. There’s always money for these misadventures, but none to fix our own failed state.

But I mainly did this to get in another “Kissinger’s dead” joke before he really croaks.

Climate Coping Strategies

Read the comic on Patreon.

The northern hemisphere is engulfed in record-breaking heatwaves, reservoirs are drying up, and nothing seriously addressing climate is coming out of DC within my lifetime.

So I self-soothed by finally embracing 5″ inseams and tank tops. Maybe all that extra unsightly pasty skin will force Congress to act.
