Patriot Front dipshits had a little fascist parade through Boston over the Fourth of July weekend. And unlike in Idaho where they were arrested in a U-Haul on their way to disrupt a Pride event, Boston’s worst gave them an escort throughout the city.
Kudos to the real patriots who counter-protested these goons.

Usually the news cycle moves on a week after a tragedy, but since Congress is still on vacation, there’s not much new news. The Uvalde police continue to look guilty of dereliction of duty as they refuse to cooperate with investigators. Which puts everybody who kissed cop butt over the last two years in a tricky spot.
Marches and protests against gun violence are planned across the country next weekend. Given what happened in 2020, I’m not expecting anything to happen, but the outrage at our leaders’ inaction is only growing.

Did my taxes just in time to send my refund back out for 2022’s first quarterly estimated taxes. The circle of life.
I’d grumble less about the military getting half of our budget if they used it so Walter Reed could speed up their supposedly universal coronavirus vaccine instead of padding the portfolios of everyone who has Raytheon stock.

Funding for COVID mitigation didn’t make it into the recently-passed spending bill. Pretty great timing, as we’re about to reach 1 million official COVID deaths in the United States, and the BA.2 omicron variant seems to be fueling another surge just as every level government is throwing mask-burning parties instead of making any preparations.

Every October, the cops trot out a PR campaign about the dangers of marijuana edibles to trick-or-treaters, and the local news dutifully covers it.
No one is giving kids their edibles. Getting hit by a car is a far more likely danger to kids on Halloween and every day.

My sympathies to all the parents, teachers and school staff out there. Governors, mayors, and everyone else eager to get bodies back in office buildings are pretending children under 12 don’t exist in order to get public daycare (the school part is secondary to these goblins) up and running.
