Honest Pro-War Slogans

I’m in the midst of unpacking, setting up my office, and cleaning up the old apartment, so I was caught off guard to learn we were bombing Iran as soon as I got the wifi working. I knew it was a possibility, but was thinking one of those “Don’t sell a war until after Labor Day” deals that the Dubya administration made famous. Guess I was suffering from heat stroke to forget that this administration is even dumber than them.

All the usual idiots are in favor of this, even though polls already show how unpopular it is. But we live in an authoritarian pariah state, so public opinion is more of sanity check for those of us without access to any of the levers of power than anything actionable.

FEMA’s You’re On Your Own Disaster Guidelines

It’s hurricane season, a heat wave is about to smother the northeast and FEMA and the NWS are just two of the many casualties of this administration. When a real disaster strikes, these bozos would have spent all their resources rounding up line cooks to give Stephen Miller a semi.

Unlike billionaires in their bunkers, the real guideline is to participate in mutual aid whenever you can. No one’s lookin’ out for us but each other.

Protestiquette

It’s summer during a fascist Trump administration, so protests are heating up. Many centrist dipshits are critiquing the protestors methods, instead of the police state crackdowns they’re facing. As usual, it’s the police who arrive wanting a riot and an excuse to use all the toys Republicans and Democrats have given them over the decades.

If you’re hitting the streets this weekend, stay safe, and don’t get kettled. I’m unfortunately stuck doing the inverse of the Ikea Man; disassembling our apartment for movers next week.

Summer Stinkers

I’ve been too busy to see any new movies this year. I’ll definitely check out Sinners when it hits VOD and I get our TV set up at a new apartment. Everything else looks like an airplane watch, and I ain’t going on one of those any time soon, unless Nathan Fielder is the pilot.
