Summer Book Blowout

Another mass shooting at an elementary school, with cops bungling the response and possibly making the body count of small children even higher. There are some other topics in here. Who cares.

The Senate’s already on vacation for the long weekend, hoping this all blows over and they can keep giving COVID funds to cops and continuing business as usual. Every normal person seems equal parts pissed and hopeless.

Try to find a way to enjoy a part of the unofficial start of summer!

Re-Re-Updated CDC Guidance

President Biden had his big July 4th “COVID’s Over!” blowout and really can’t be bothered with us plebes not wanting to get sick. That’s why the policy’s been “Let’r RIP!” since the Delta wave interrupted our summer fun. The economy is the only thing he has to crow about, so now essential employees are being shoved back to work while contagious and symptomatic.

Re-Updated CDC Guidance

I did the first version of this cartoon almost exactly three months ago, when the CDC said the vaccinated could unmask indoors, which relied on the honor system. In America. Where a third of the country won’t even agree the pandemic exists.

It was a bad idea then, and it took the Delta Variant to become the predominant strain for them to finally reverse their decision. The people who need to follow that advice the most won’t, and now here we are.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and I won’t be drawing a third in this series for Halloween, but I doubt it.
