The week before a big election has always been a tough one, and after 2004, I learned my lesson to never count on a result going the way I wrote it. So today I decided to go after an evergreen topic: The vapidity of opinion columnists, particularly at the New York Times.
The paper that once hired me to draw cartoons for six years has taken a hard-right turn since AG Sulzberger took the reins into his soft nepo-baby hands. The opinion columns have always reflected the world through the eyes of wealthy, out-of-touch psuedo-intellectuals, but now there’s little more than anti-trans hate, warmongering, or culture war stuff the rest of us can’t afford to care about.
Tune in next week, unless martial law is declared after the midterm results come in.
