GOP Midterm Messaging

Read the comic on Patreon.

You don’t roll out a new advertising campaign until after Labor Day. With the midterms coming up, the GOP is in need of a new one. They’re currently polling lower than Democrats, which is surprising if you have the same view of Democratic leadership as I do.

This could all change in two months, but for now, it’s nice to see them ineptly flailing about for once.

Senate Hearing Content Warnings

Read the comic on Patreon.

I only watched clips and read articles about the Senate Judiciary Committee’s confirmation hearings for Ketanji Brown Jackson. A gross spectacle that I don’t know how anyone managed to watch it all, let alone participate in it like Brown Jackson was forced too.

After the run of Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, there’s no more pretense of the Supreme Court being above the fray. That ended with Bush v. Gore for me.

Hopefully Brown Jackson gets confirmed. Meanwhile, I’m eagerly refreshing Clarence Thomas news.

Meet the Republican “Resistance”

When I said I was adjusting my production schedule, I didn’t intend for the comic to be this late. I wrote and started drawing a whole other comic about Trump’s North Korea bluster, but the events in Charlottesville rendered that tone deaf so I started from scratch.

I could’ve easily lumped many Democrats in with this faux-resistance crew, but this goes out to several publications that would’ve thrown the phony alt-left epithet at me and stopped sending me checks.

The Judiciary Committee’s Absentee Excuses

Absentee ExcusesI previously picked on Mitch McConnell for stonewalling President Obama just hours after Scalia kicked the bucket. McConnell’s Republican pals on the Senate Judiciary Committee are pulling the same crap and refusing to even meet with Merrick Garland. They really have no endgame, this is just obstruction for obstruction’s sake.

The GOP’s Winter Wonderland

The GOP's Winter WonderlandUnlike Frosty the Snowman, the Trump campaign the GOP brought to life won’t go away when the temperatures rise. We’re just over a month away from the primaries and we’ll find out if Trump’s poll numbers translate into votes and make the GOP’s decades of implicit racism explicit.

The G.O.P.’s Anti-Immigrant Stupor

Anti-Immigrant StuporWith Trump leading Republican polls with a full-blown racist nationalist platform of slurs and insults, the rest of the field is following his lead and it’s ugly. Stripped of the dog whistles and coded language employed by Republicans for decades, the hatefulness of that party toward immigrants is now obvious to anyone, especially those who will be voting in the general election.
